Analysis of Ceded and Assumed Reinsurance

• Reinsurance contracts for both our ceding company and reinsurer clients.
• Provide input to state insurance departments in the course of their financial examinations as to the appropriateness and reasonableness of the examined company’s reinsurance program.

Pricing of Reinsurance Treaties

• Provide our reinsurance clients with pricing and treaty structure assistance related to submissions that they have received.

Assistance with Development and Negotiation of Reinsurance Programs

• Analyses of reinsurance structure and pricing for our insurance company clients and our managing general agency clients.
• Explaining the sensitivity of various reinsurance terms and how it affects their business.
• Provide critical input on the reinsurer’s pricing approach, and have often elicited concessions from reinsurers based on pointing out incorrect assumptions underlying their reinsurance ratemaking approach.

Risk Transfer Analysis

• Suggest revisions to our ceding company client treaties so that they contain adequate risk transfer.
• Reviewed reinsurance contracts of examined companies on behalf of state regulatory clients. We have found material instances of contracts incorrectly accounted for as reinsurance, when inadequate risk transfer was involved.
• Argued successfully to state regulatory entities on behalf of our company clients whose contracts are being questioned.
