Reinsurance

M&A has gained extensive reinsurance experience through various means. David Shepherd, FCAS, MAAA was a reinsurance actuary and underwriter as an officer of two different reinsurance companies, most recently serving as the Chief Actuary and Chief Underwriting Officer. His 10 years of reinsurance experience was spent working in virtually all aspects of the reinsurance business. Mr. Shepherd has continued to work directly with reinsurers and reinsurance brokers as an actuarial consultant.

In addition to Mr. Shepherd’s direct involvement with reinsurers, all M&A credentialed actuaries have addressed reinsurance structure, coverage, and risk transfer issues through work with our primary insurance company clients. Our actuaries are also involved in treaty negotiations and structure development and analysis for our risk-taking clients.
